Your Wedding Dress & COVID-19
Q&A with Bri States of Bri’s Bridal Boutique
If you are one of the many couples planning a wedding amid the coronavirus pandemic, Bri is here to help you navigate the world of wedding attire. She has answered a few of the most common inquires below. If you have other scenarios not covered here, please reach out to Bri at 970.903.8587.
Q: WILL MY DRESS GET HERE ON TIME
A: If you have ordered your wedding gown before the pandemic, chances are your gown has already arrived or will arrive well before the estimated delivery date you were given at the time of purchase. If the dress is currently not in the store, it is likely that the dress is on its way and will be here in the next few weeks. Because of the pandemic, designers are not receiving any new bridal gown orders and have been able to focus on getting all current orders shipped out.
Q: I HAVE NOT FOUND MY DRESS YET. WILL I BE ABLE TO GET A WEDDING DRESS IN TIME FOR MY WEDDING
A: If your wedding is 2 to 5 months away, don’t panic just yet. Typically it takes a wedding dress 4-6 months to be ordered in. However, times are a little different right now. Due to the pandemic, most bridal shops have had to close their doors for the time being. Because of that, there are very few new orders being placed, and designers have caught up with prior orders they have received. Once bridal shops are able to reopen their doors, set up your appointment right away. That way, when your dress order is placed, you are at the front of the line to have your dress made. Another option you have is purchasing one of the samples shops have off the rack. We want to be able to get you your dream dress just as much as you do. We will do everything in our power to make that possible.
Q: WILL I STILL HAVE TIME TO GET MY DRESS ALTERED
A: Yes. Keep in mind when you alter a wedding dress, it is typically done one month to two weeks before your actual wedding date. That way, the dress is altered to the most accurate size you will be on your wedding day. Keep in contact with your seamstress and see if they have any guidelines they are being regulated by for COVID-19.
Q: WHAT IF WE POSTPONE OUR WEDDING
A: If you have had to postpone your wedding, it’s okay to be upset with things not going as planned. There has been a lot of chatter from people over social media saying you don’t have the right to be upset because people have to miss or move these things all the time due to unforeseen circumstances. While that is true, it doesn’t make any of it any less disappointing. You have the right to be upset. After all, you have put a lot into your special day. Make sure to reach out to your venue and vendors. We are all in this to help you have the perfect day. Talk to us, we are doing our best to make sure your wedding day is still a reality even though things are not going as we had originally planned. Please remember this day is about celebrating you and the love of your life. It will truly be magical no matter what.
