The Strater Catering & Events Company is dedicated to the fine art of entertaining. Our team has years of experience in catering memorable events at the Strater Hotel, in private homes, and in other beautiful Southwest Colorado venues. We specialize in weddings, parties, business meetings and conferences with the ability to host groups of up to 250 if you decide to have your event at the Strater Hotel.
We're pleased to offer an array of unique venues at the Strater Hotel including our luxurious Pullman Room where President John F. Kennedy addressed locals and prominent officials during his historical campaign run for office. Your event may be held in the same room as where the President once stood, or elsewhere depending on what type of memories you would like us to create for you.
When it comes to the menu, our culinary artists create fresh and unique works daily from a palette loaded with local color and flavor. Our wait staff provides impeccable service with an attention to detail that surpasses all others. Our event planning is second to none when it comes to detail and unforgettable experiences.

Our reception at the Strater Hotel was the best party I’ve been to! All our guests were up on the dance floor the entire night – great fun!! The Strater Hotel was an excellent location for our reception they eased our stress and worked so hard to make everything work smoothly, making the evening more fun than we could have imagined.
We chose Durango for our destination wedding because we love the vibe of the city and it is such a beautiful place. All our guests had such an amazing time. Not only did they get to enjoy a great wedding, they also got to experience white water rafting, hiking, fishing, bar hopping, and just the overall amazing feeling that only Durango can give.
