A Perfect Blend Wedding at River Bend Ranch
From the bride, Kymberly:
Since it was our day, we based everything (style/vibe) on what we liked and enjoyed as a couple.
THE PLANNING
The Durango Wedding Expo and Durango Weddings Magazine were the first steps to giving us an idea of what vendors are out there. At the beginning of the planning process, you are just overwhelmed with all the wedding stuff that you don’t know what direction to go. The Expo was helpful in a way that narrowed down all the local vendors and meeting them to see who fit our vibe. The Magazine gave us ideas of how others planned and also showed what the vendors did, which was great! The Magazine also gave me an idea about what things not to stress so much on and to really just enjoy the day.
THE VENUE
We found our venue at the Durango Wedding Expo. We spoke to Dan and scheduled a tour and were instantly in love with the outdoor space, the indoor space, the trees, the mountain views, and the deck. River Bend Ranch is just a magical place.
THE CEREMONY
We held our ceremony next to the willow tree by the edge of the pond. My favorite ceremony memory was Lane and I reading our own vows that we wrote to one another.
After the ceremony, standing there under the trees, we stopped and looked at one another and said “we did it, we’re finally married!” and hugged each other and even cried tears of joy.
THE FAVORS
The one thing that we wanted to incorporate into our wedding day was coffee. But we just didn’t want to serve it as a beverage. We had coffee pouches made with “The Perfect Blend” printed on them. Then we filled each pouch with our favorite coffee so that everyone who attended could take one home.
My favorite reception memory was sitting at our sweetheart table, watching everyone enjoying themselves while they were visiting with one another, laughing, taking pictures, eating, and just having a good time.
ADVICE
Remember that you are planning a day that’s about you both. Don’t choose or add something to your day because of a family member, it’s not about them. It’s okay to share what you both love and/or enjoy with everyone else.
