A Destination Wedding at Ridgewood Event Center
From the bride, Paige: Carl grew up in Durango, I grew up in Tucson, AZ and we both went to school in Seattle. Seattle was very far away for most family and guests, Tucson is WAY too hot in the summer, so we chose Durango for our wedding!
The ceremony was held on the lawn at Ridgewood Event Center at 4pm. It was a perfect sunny day. Carl and I wrote our own vows and read them to each other and we served each other communion as our first act as a married couple. We then served communion to our wedding party and had a few friends serve it to the rest of our guests. One of our good friends and one of Carl’s cousins read scripture for us. My aunt played the harp during the processional – “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and “Marry Me” by Train.
Our gift table included wooden pallets containing all kinds of local produce, jams, jellies, succulents, herbs and flower seeds that guests could fill up paper bags with.
ADVICE: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Our parents and wedding coordinator did so much work, which was a huge blessing for both of us since we were still students and out-of-state.
