A Relaxed Mountain Micro Wedding

Alyson & Erich

From the couple…

We got engaged while backcountry skiing near Molas Pass and celebrated that night with dinner at Eolus—so it felt especially meaningful to return there for our reception. The ceremony took place in the mountains near Silverton, with our immediate families, a few close friends, and our dogs. Aside from a few chairs, the natural beauty of the setting was all the decoration we needed. After the ceremony, we gathered in the meadow for drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Later, we drove back to Eolus in Durango for the reception. The tables were adorned with floral bud vases and framed photos of us, and we designed a custom vinyl album cover to serve as our guest book. Our favorite local musician, Sean O’Brien, performed live and set the perfect tone for the evening. The food was phenomenal, and our signature cocktails were named after our dogs.

ADVICE: Be present and enjoy all the moments. We left our phones in our car for both the ceremony and reception.
