"Just Plain Fun" in Durango
From the bride, Kelsey: Our wedding day was just plain fun. It rained on and off all day, but the sun came out just in time for our ceremony and reception. Dark clouds hung over Silver Mountain in the distance; it was beautiful. Everyone was dancing up a storm all night. We kept the party going until the wee hours of the morning with the biggest campfire I have ever seen.
Chris cut 16 log slices, one for each table. We laid a lace doily on each log and set a lantern on top. Every table had arrangements of local organic flowers done by the groom’s mother, as well as candles in mason jars and wooden table numbers. The escort cards were hand lettered and placed in a crate shipped to me from my grandparents’ farm in Wisconsin.
The cake resembled baskets of strawberries. Cake Cafe did an awesome job making this idea a reality! Plus, it was delicious.
PERSONAL TOUCHES
-Chris made the arch that we were married under with logs from our cabin in the San Juan’s. He worked hard on it and it was a very special touch to our wedding.
-Our guestbook was a slice of wood in a shadow box that people wrote on. It looks awesome on our wall!
