A Boho Forest Wedding at River Bend Ranch
MaKaila & David | July 7th
From the bride… My husband is a HUGE Broncos fan. The second question he asked me when we met and before we started dating was, “whose your football team?” good thing I was raised a Broncos fan!
THE PROPOSAL
David actually proposed to me at the Denver Broncos season opener in front of the stadium before the game. We try to make it to a Broncos game every year so you could say the Broncos play a special role in our lives. I refused to have an orange and blue wedding, but I still wanted to incorporate a few Broncos details in a special way.
THE VISION
We were both born in Colorado and share a love for the outdoors. We felt a mountain wedding was the best fit for us. Our envisioned a forest bohemian wedding with deep green and blue jewel tones.
THE DRESS
I knew the second I put that dress on that it was the one for me. It was the second dress I put on, at my first appointment of three that day. After trying a few more, I knew I was sold on that lace beauty and canceled the rest of my appointments!
My favorite detail was the circular arch. My aunt, cousins, and a family friend spent a lot of time decorating the arch with greenery and florals.
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony took place on the edge of a pond, in front of a breathtaking red mountain face.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT
After we exited the ceremony, David and I took a ride around the venue in the carriage to have a quiet moment together to reflect on what just happened. It was so nice to have that special moment together after the ceremony before getting back to the party.
THE RECEPTION DECOR
Greenery, succulents, wood slices, macramé hangings, bohemian dream catchers, and gold accents.
My mom and I spent hours hand making hundreds of gum paste succulents for the cupcakes.
LOOKING BACK
I would have not gotten so stressed about the little things. It all comes together in the end and it was absolutely beautiful.
ADVICE
Enjoy the planning process! It seems like a lot to do at first but if you need help organizing and visualizing it all, find a wedding planning template and make yourself a binder. It really helps!
