A Casual Country Wedding at Echo Basin Ranch

From the bride, Kelly: I am originally from a small town and have always been a country girl. I had never imagined my wedding to be anything but country. We are very laid back and and liked that Echo Basin Ranch has a casual country setting.

I wanted my bouquet to have a very special meaning so we included my grandpa’s belt buckle and my grandma’s earnings.

Our color palette was turquoise, coral, khaki and brown.

The ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. We are both catholic so it was very important to us that we marry in the church. Sacred Heart is a beautiful brick church built in the 1800s.  I really liked the church because it was small, narrow and intimate.

Most of our decorations were homemade. We had beautiful ceramic boot centerpieces that members of our family painted. We sewed the burlap table cloth runners, made the cupcake toppers and put together all of the bridesmaid bouquets, flower arrangements and centerpieces by hand.

My advice: Enjoy planning and don’t sweat the small stuff. It may not feel like it at the time of planning, but EVERYTHING really does fall into place on the big day.

Kelly’s RECOMMENDED VENDORS

Reception Site & Catering: ECHO BASIN RANCH . We chose Echo Basin Ranch because it was affordable and in the country. We wanted the reception site to be very green, lots of trees and have a log cabin feel. We also wanted the site to be outside of Durango. We liked that our guests could bring their RVs and camp out. Our wedding party and family were able to stay in the cabins on site, which was awesome!    Th reception hall is country and rustic with a laid-back feel. They have a great bar and pool tables, which the kids loved! The outside patio seating was very popular as well as the grassy field and pond that was nearby. Echo Basin’s catering included everything from table linens; chair covers, silver ware and lights. It was nice that it was all included and we didn’t have to get any outside rentals. The food was great and right in our budget!
