Skylar & Shawn | June 30th
From the bride, Skylar:
Our wedding was a simple country wedding focusing more on celebrating the day and uniting our families.

Our ring bearer and flower girl were both toddlers. As we started our walk toward the aisle, our ring bearer started crying and our flower girl ran away. My dad ended up carrying both babies while walking me down the aisle. It probably looked pretty messy, but thinking back, it was beautiful.
Our ceremony was a short, special one with a traditional vow exchange and a unity sand ceremony.

We made bouquets from silk flowers and peacock feathers that were placed in old cowboy boots.

I loved, as a total newbie event planner, seeing the day come together including the DIY decorations and simplicity of it all, but more so, KNOWING that even if it hadn’t turned out perfect (aesthetically) it would have still been perfect as it was such a special day.

My Advice: Investing in a great photographer is definitely the most important thing you can do because with a great photographer, you don’t have to rely solely on memories.

We made our centerpieces, on top of bandanna wrapped posts, with the help of my family! We also mixed up the table décor by alternating brown tablecloths with blue runners and vice versa as well as using
