I was very nervous the day of our wedding because it was raining all morning. We really wanted to get married outdoors but it rained right up until we were about to start taking pictures. I don’t know what or how, but the clouds opened up and gave us an absolutely perfect fall day. We were able to hold our ceremony outside facing the stunning La Plata Mountains.
It was important to us that the wedding reflected our adventurous laid back spirits. We tried to implement our favorite things and places in Durango as well as: the outdoors, our pups, local beer, and good food.
Our inspiration was the beauty of fall in the mountains. It is definitely our favorite season with the warm sunny days and cool nights, and the changing of the aspen leaves to glowing gold. We wanted to bring that feeling into our wedding day while complementing the mountain lodge architecture of our venue, and keeping in mind Silverton’s Victorian/mining history.
