Here Comes the Sun

Lacey & Michael |  June 16th  | Blanco, New Mexico

From the bride, Lacey:
My goal was to create a wedding that was light and fun, yet simple and rustic with lots of DIY details.  I drew my inspiration from aspen trees, sunshine, burlap, the song “Here Comes the Sun”.  Our decor was greatly influenced by what we saw at the Durango Wedding Expo and in the Durango Weddings Magazine. (Via the magazine, I found the best photographer I could have even imagined!)

My step-mom MISSED the ceremony, but we reiterated our vows with our parents surrounding us so she could witness it.  It was very intimate and emotional, and even better than the first time. Step mum was also more than pleased.

The reception was so perfect. Every little detail came together even better than I had imagined.

My favorite detail was the all the lights in the trees; as it got darker they just looked more and more beautiful!

My advice: 1) Don’t drive yourself crazy rushing yourself, but don’t waste time either. It will come so much faster than you think! Make yourself a timeline and a checklist; it will be so useful and make you feel so much more organized.  2) When planning gets stressful and you think you’d rather elope (which you will think many times), remember why you love each other and why you said “yes” in the first place.

My Recommended Vendors:
Photographer: Photo Divine {more infoKyla and Wesley were so wonderful to work with. I would recommend them to anyone, and I have. I loved them so much, that in addition to our engagement and wedding photos, I hired them to take boudoir photos for me as a wedding gift to Michael. These women were incredible at making me feel comfortable and at ease, even in front of a camera. They really develop a relationship with you from the start. Everything was so natural and fun.

Venue: Wines of the San Juan; everything was so beautiful. There were a lot of great places for photos. At one point, the leaves from the cottonwood trees were falling and it looked like snow in June.
