Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain Resort

Ashley & Travis | September 20, 2104 | Durango Mountain Resort

From the bride: We visit Durango every year for our anniversary trip and always have a blast so we figured why not get married there. We really wanted to get married outside and knew Durango would not disappoint for scenery.Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain ResortWe wanted to keep everything simple and really portray who we are as a couple. We didn’t want the focus to be on the elements of a wedding rather we wanted it to be about the wedding itself and what it means to us. Most of all we wanted everyone to feel relaxed including ourselves and have FUN!Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain ResortWedding Destination: Durango Mountain Resort Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain Resort Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain Resort Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain Resort Wedding Destination: Durango Mountain Resort My advice: Try not to get caught up in the details. Pick the things that are really going to matter to you years from now and focus on them. Most of all don’t stress and enjoy your day!!

A Perfect Day at LePlatt’s Pond

Mackenzie & Ethan | June 14th | LePlatt’s Pond

From the bride: My wedding day was basically all and more than I could have ever wanted. The day ended up being perfect despite the prior week and morning of rain, which in the end made the day all the more beautiful. From the mimosas in the bridal suite, to the sparkler send off at the end, I could not have asked for a better day.

During the ceremony, we really wanted the focus to be on God and how our relationship could only last as long as we kept him in the center of the marriage.

A Casual Country Wedding at Echo Basin Ranch

Kelly & Andrew |  June 28, 2014  |  Echo Basin Ranch

From the bride: I am originally from a small town and have always been a country girl. I had never imagined my wedding to be anything but country. We are very laid back and and liked that Echo Basin Ranch has a casual country setting.

A Casual Country Wedding at Echo Basin Ranch I wanted my bouquet to have a very special meaning so we included my grandpa’s belt buckle and my grandma’s earnings. A Casual Country Wedding at Echo Basin Ranch

Our color palette was turquoise, coral, khaki and brown.   A Casual Country Wedding at Echo Basin Ranch

The ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. We are both catholic so it was very important to us that we marry in the church. Sacred Heart is a beautiful brick church built in the 1800s.  I really liked the church because it was small, narrow and intimate.

Most of our decorations were homemade. We had beautiful ceramic boot centerpieces that members of our family painted. We sewed the burlap table cloth runners, made the cupcake toppers and put together all of the bridesmaid bouquets, flower arrangements and centerpieces by hand.

My advice: Enjoy planning and don’t sweat the small stuff. It may not feel like it at the time of planning, but EVERYTHING really does fall into place on the big day.

Reception Site & Catering: ECHO BASIN RANCH {more info}. We chose Echo Basin Ranch because it was affordable and in the country. We wanted the reception site to be very green, lots of trees and have a log cabin feel. We also wanted the site to be outside of Durango. We liked that our guests could bring their RVs and camp out. Our wedding party and family were able to stay in the cabins on site, which was awesome!    Th reception hall is country and rustic with a laid-back feel. They have a great bar and pool tables, which the kids loved! The outside patio seating was very popular as well as the grassy field and pond that was nearby. Echo Basin’s catering included everything from table linens; chair covers, silver ware and lights. It was nice that it was all included and we didn’t have to get any outside rentals. The food was great and right in our budget!
