Pink & Lime & Full of Love

Photography by IlluminArts Photography

From the bride, Emily:
Morning showers burned off just in time for our outdoor ceremony.  It turned into the perfect summer day with pristine blue skies and puffy white clouds. We located our cocktail hour on the lawn, just steps away from the ceremony site.  It was a gorgeous setting with tables draped in billowy tablecloths that softly blew in the wind.  Guests moved inside the event center to find their tables for dinner.  An elaborate buffet wrapped around the porch.  After dinner, the dancing began and didn’t stop ‘til long after we left.

PERSONAL TOUCH

Our escort cards were attached to bike wheels with pink and green ribbon.  We hung our DIY bike wheels from trees on the edge of the cocktail area.

Ceremony on the Pine River

Photography by IlluminArts Photography

From the bride, Mary:
Our ceremony was held outdoors with the river serving as the backdrop. The site was adorned with three large twiggy grape vine arbors draped in roses and wild flowers. After walking me down the aisle, my father presided over the ceremony and it was an extremely touching memory for both of us.  The reception was held under a beautiful cathedral tent on an absolutely perfect Colorado day.  We did not want to restrict where anyone sat, so we had open seating for our 50 guests.  The tables were draped in ivory and shimmery coral tablecloths accented with lily and rose floral centerpieces. I loved my four princess fairy flower girls!  Too cute for words!
MEMORABLE MOMENT
My 90-year-old Nana shared a story from my childhood describing why I was one of the reasons they never sold the ranch. Even though Grandpa has since passed on, his memory lived on at the wedding.  His presence was felt everywhere and we all knew that he would be so proud to see his Granddaughter get married at his beloved ranch.

For many of the guests, this was their first time visiting Colorado, so for them it was not only a wedding, but from the feedback we have received, one of their best vacations ever!  Many of our guests extended their stay to enjoy all that Durango had to offer including  fly fishing, rafting and riding the train.

Pink & Unique at The Durango Discovery Museum

Photography by Kyla Jackson Photography

From the bride, Kacy:
Our wedding theme was cranes.  The crane is a majestic bird which mates for life and is extremely loyal to its partner. The bird is strong, graceful and beautiful. Because of the great importance of the crane, the Japanese people feel that a person who folds 1,000 cranes will be granted his or her greatest wish. We hung 300 cranes from the ceiling. Our cake was square with four tiers in pink, black, and white with cranes at each corner along with origami cranes flying on the top!
