Casual, Rustic Romance

Photography by IlluminArts Photography

From the bride, Victoria:
Our wedding was mountain rustic with a home-grown feel.  We wanted to showcase Colorado’s fall landscape.   Our color palette was inspired by nature; oatmeal and browns with accents of lime green, teal and blue.  Our goal was to have a really laid-back, casual, family reunion feel to our day.  It started off with 2 hours of games-and-cocktails featuring our family favorites: bocce and cornhole.  Signature drinks were served and the photo booth opened.  Later in the evening, we had a large bonfire, served s’mores and sang songs around the firepit.

We wanted a ceremony that was picturesque, intimate and non-denominational.  We chose an open meadow in Chris Park with aspens in the background as the sun was setting over the mountains.  The weather was perfect!

Small & Quaint by the San Juan River

Photography by  Carol Cardwell Photography

From the bride, Katie:
It started pouring down rain about two hours before the ceremony, but the minute I walked out to see my dad, the clouds broke and it turned out to be a gorgeous evening. As bagpipes played, we walked down the grass aisle full of family and friends.  We stood  along the San Juan River under an arbor my Aunt made.  My cousin sang a beautiful song and my brother read a family prayer that was one of my grandmother’s favorites.  We had a small and quaint reception.  People danced from the minute we walked in until 12:30 in the morning.  Bill and I couldn’t have felt more loved with all of the wonderful friends and family we had around us!  We had the best day of our lives!

MEMORABLE MOMENT
There was something magical about the sound of bagpipes playing Highland Cathedral; it literally hit me in the soul.

FAVORITE DETAIL
My cousin brought pashminas (in our wedding colors) from Cambodia for all the women to wear at the wedding. They were a welcome gift on the chilly evening.

Pink & Lime & Full of Love

Photography by IlluminArts Photography

From the bride, Emily:
Morning showers burned off just in time for our outdoor ceremony.  It turned into the perfect summer day with pristine blue skies and puffy white clouds. We located our cocktail hour on the lawn, just steps away from the ceremony site.  It was a gorgeous setting with tables draped in billowy tablecloths that softly blew in the wind.  Guests moved inside the event center to find their tables for dinner.  An elaborate buffet wrapped around the porch.  After dinner, the dancing began and didn’t stop ‘til long after we left.

PERSONAL TOUCH

Our escort cards were attached to bike wheels with pink and green ribbon.  We hung our DIY bike wheels from trees on the edge of the cocktail area.
