A Snowy Christmas Wedding

From the bride, Sarah: Daniel and I are both avid skiers. We knew we wanted to get married in the mountains, it’s our favorite place in the whole world. We wanted a luxurious après ski wedding with a warm holiday glow and our closest family plus a few friends who were crazy enough to make the trip.

THE DAY OF
We had a blizzard the day of our wedding. The most beautiful thick white snowy blanket that fell steadily for the whole day and into the night, it was magical!!  A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah

THE RECEPTION
Our reception was filled with gold glittery candles, red holly berries, brown pinecones on deep green pine boughs, and aspen tree accents. I felt like I was outside in the mountains—but inside of the coziest lodge glowing with the most lovely holiday sparkle!

ADVICE
Be chill. It’s your one and only dream-come-true day to celebrate the love of your life and the beginning of the rest of your forever together. At a certain point you let it go and just go with it because the day is going to be as wonderful as you allow it to be. Our day was wonderful and I did my best to soak up every moment

An Intimate Mountain Ceremony

From the bride, Liz: We have always enjoyed the outdoor spaces that we get to explore here in Colorado. So, when it came time to pick a spot for our ceremony, it was fitting to pick a mountain setting with a backdrop of the continental divide! Our location was about 30 minutes, west of our home in Denver, in the foothills, at Genesee Park. The edge of the park provided the perfect setting for our small group and had all the features we had hoped to find when we first started looking. The majority of our guests were from out-of-state.

PERSONAL TOUCHES
Josh drove his 1966 GMC truck and I hand painted the Just Married banner. It was really special to use my grandmother’s jewelry instead of purchasing something new.

THE CEREMONY
The weather was spot on, the guests were happy, a deer crossed my path as I walked toward Josh. My husband-to-be fumbled the line in the vows about listening, and no joke, an eagle screeched as the officiant read the ceremony! My favorite part was getting to hold eachother’s hand and look each other in the eye while we recited vows.

Before we entered the reception, the neighborhood ice cream shop began playing music and we had a spontaneous first dance in front 50+ strangers.

THE CAKE
Our cake was left in the walk-in cooler a little too long, so Josh and I had to cut through a very cold cake with a very warm knife which ended up being very entertaining for us.
